Chemical Analysis is applied to measure the chemical composition of iron-based materials. The sample is burnt under argon gas. The light, emitted as a result of the combustion, is examined.

Since each element emits light at different wave lengths, the amount of elements in the material is determined in % by weight. For this analysis, the OBLF GS1000-II Optical Emission Spectrometer is used at Çimtaş Mechanical and Metallographic Test Laboratory.
