For a Sustainable World, We Have Celebrated
World Green Building Week 2019
We celebrated World Green Building Week at Cimtas Pipe LSAW Pipe Works, the first LEED Gold Certified Facility in the sector, with an event on 25th of September.
Sencer Aydın, CP General Manager and Müge Erişen, CP HSE Group Manager, have shared the importance of sustainable green world and the actions, we can take to contribute to this mission, in their speeches.
At the end of the event, green plants, holding the cards listing the activities that we can do personally to contribute to the sustainable world and future, have been given to the event attendees.
Additionally, the Cimtas Employees who contributed to the Cimtas Near Miss Recording System via sharing environment-related calls have been awarded Tree Donation Certificates of TEMA Foundation.
Did you know that 39% of global energy-related carbon emissions come from buildings? This ratio is equal to 1/3 of the world greenhouse gas emissions. In order to fully decarbonize by 2050 to keep global warming to below 1.5 degrees, the building and construction sector must also tackle embodied emissions from the entire building lifecycle.
Because of this reason, Every September 23-29 of the year "World Green Building Week" is celebrated with activities.
